4 For everything that has been [a](A)born of God (B)overcomes the world; and this is the overcoming that has overcome the world—our faith.

5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who (C)believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is the One who came (D)by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not [b]with the water only, but [c]with the water and [d]with the blood. It is (E)the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
